Salmonberry Season - Salmonberries, Foliage, Petrichor, Daffodils, Morel
Salmonberry Season - Salmonberries, Foliage, Petrichor, Daffodils, Morel
Notes: Freshly-picked salmonberries, foliage, petrichor, daffodils, morel mushrooms
Description: This perfume oil is inspired by the springtime foreagables in Stardew Valley. I like to imagine that this is what my farmer would smell like when they get home after a long day out in the Cindersap Forest.
Salmonberry Season opens with the tart, juicy smell of fresh salmonberries, alongside vibrant green foliage. As it blooms on your skin, a heady floral emerges: daffodils. Petrichor and morel mushrooms linger in the background.
Funny story – prior to making this perfume, I’d never smelled a salmonberry before, and they don’t grow where I live. I ordered some salmonberry jam from Alaska & held spoonfuls in my mouth while I worked, until what I was smelling matched what was in my mouth. And then I added some greener materials to make it smell like a fresh berry, rather than jam. If you’ve never smelled or tasted a salmonberry, it’s sort of like a cross between a tomato and a raspberry. Very unusual, and so yummy!
